KALOOBAN NG DIYOS (Ama) o KALOOBAN NG TAO (Jesus)!

"Panginoong Hesukristo")."

Protestant Leaders Declare Reunification of Churches Under the Holy See

Pastor Rick Warren
"...so that they may all be one..." (John 17:21), these are the prayers of the Lord Jesus who founded the CHURCH.. that through this CHURCH, we may be ONE just as the Father and the Son are ONE.  We all have to give praise to the Triune God for this great manifestation of TRUTH in the CHURCH which according to St. Paul,"the pillar and foundation of all truth" (1 Tim. 3:15)

VATICAN CITY– Following more than five hundred years of separation, American and European Protestant leaders met with Pope Francis last week to finalize the reunification of the two churches under the Holy See. The historic agreement is the result of a year’s worth of unpublicized talks between Protestant leaders and the Vatican.

Prominent American pastors Joel Osteen and Rick Warren, respectively, as well as Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, were among the Protestant delegation that met with Pope Francis last week. Pastor Warren, founder of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, spoke with members of the international press in St. Peter’s Square, saying, “Protestants, as a people, have a long history of heresy. The time for reconciliation is now in order to ensure a full and dogmatic transition into the folds of the Church.”

Moments before meeting with reporters, the entire Protestant delegation, for the first time ever, entered the confessional to take part, individually, in the Sacrament of Penance. “It’s important that we participate in these sacred rituals before asking our congregation to do the same,” Pastor Osteen said, adding that his time in confession was “an immensely moving experience.”

As Protestants around the world make the transition to Catholicism, many are wondering what, exactly, that means for them. “First and foremost we acknowledge the Pope’s infallibility with regard to universal moral declarations, the authority of Church magistrate, faith, and ex cathedra,” said Father Cliff Brogan, a former Protestant pastor who was the first of the delegation to be ordained as a priest at the Vatican. “Secondly, we participate in the sacrament of the Eucharist by accepting the actual body and blood of Christ, an event known as Transubstantiation, at the conclusion of the holy mass.”

As part of their induction into the Catholic faith, all Protestants above the age of fifteen are required to undergo a Catholic Confirmation, one of three sacraments of initiation, out of seven total, which Catholics can receive. “Most, if not all, of us have been baptized,” said Father Brogran. “However, without formal Confirmation, our Protestant baptisms will be null, thus preventing us from entering the Kingdom of Heaven.”

Additionally, during the transition period, American Protestant families whose children attend Sunday School are to receive vouchers allowing them to participate in CCD programs at area Catholic churches.

In a show of support for the reunification under the Holy See, the United Kingdom announced Wednesday that it is taking steps to reunify Northern Ireland with The Republic of Ireland. The government of the UK has acknowledged the stark differences between the two countries, but according to one official, “We are, for the first time, one people, united under the Bishop of Rome, acting together as the bride and servant of Christ.”

TIME: Pope Francis and the New Roman Empire

Pope Francis waves to the crowd as he arrives in Bosnia
and Herzegovina for a Mass in 2015. (Time.com)
[Source: TIME]- From Cuba to climate change, he has revitalized the Vatican’s role in global diplomacy. Now he’s bringing his activist agenda to the U.S.

History sometimes turns on little things– a single bullet, a spy’s blurry photograph–and on Aug. 25, 2014, Cardinal Jaime Ortega y Alamino of Havana arrived at the White House to deliver one such object. Ortega had gone to great lengths to cover his tracks. His name does not appear in official White House visitor logs, and he had even arranged an event at Georgetown University that day to explain his presence in the capital. When he arrived at the West Wing he was quickly shown to a secluded patio outside the Oval Office, where President Barack Obama, White House chief of staff Denis McDonough and two other top aides greeted him.

After dispensing with the formalities, the Cardinal took out a letter from Pope Francis to Obama. Ortega informed the Americans that he had delivered the same message days earlier in person to Cuban President Raúl Castro. And then Ortega began to read the Pope’s words out loud. Francis expressed his support for diplomatic talks the U.S. and Cuba had secretly been pursuing in an effort to end a half-century of hostility. He encouraged the two nations to resolve the issue of prisoners, a key sticking point in negotiations. And he offered the Vatican’s assistance to help the two countries overcome their decades of distrust and confrontation.

Francis’ letter was as simple as that, but it made a difference. Two months later, Obama and Castro took Francis up on his offer, dispatching top officials to the privacy of the Vatican for a five-hour session in which they hammered out the details of an agreement to restore full diplomatic relations. And when Obama and Castro sealed the historic deal by telephone on Dec. 16, 2014, they found common ground expressing their gratitude to the Pope. Most important, the Pope’s letter offered symbolic shelter for both sides as they weighed the political costs of reconciliation. Francis’ popularity as a religious figure in the U.S. gave Obama cover as he cut a deal with godless communists across the Straits of Florida, while the Pope’s credibility as a Latin American shielded Castro as he got in bed with Yankee capitalists. “[The Cubans] were very clear with us that they saw Pope Francis as different from previous Popes,” says Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes, who was present at the meeting with Ortega and the talks in Rome, “because of his stature as the first Pope from Latin America.”

That difference will be on full display when Francis arrives in Cuba on Sept. 19, ahead of a five-day historic visit to the U.S., and it is key to understanding not just who he is but how he is leading the Vatican on the world stage 30 months into his reign. Francis, 78, rose to prominence as a church leader in the unruly world of Latin American politics of the 1960s and 1970s, and his life and outlook are the products of the developing world. He has never been to the U.S., and his only papal trip to a developed Western country so far was a four-hour stopover in France, the shortest ever by a Pope. Instead he has focused on his spiritual base, traveling almost exclusively to so-called Global South nations, including Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Bolivia and Brazil.

That perspective has infused Vatican diplomacy under Francis with the same paradoxical mix of humility and influence that have defined his papacy so far. Nearly a year after Ortega’s visit, Francis shrugged off his role in the U.S.-Cuba rapprochement, even as he credited divine inspiration for his own part in the talks’ successful outcome. “What could I do with these two who have been going on like this for more than 50 years?” he asked reporters on a return flight from Paraguay to Rome in July. “Then the Lord made me think of a Cardinal, and he went there and talked,” Francis said. “We did hardly anything, only small things.”

But Francis’ small things are proving to be a big deal for the rest of the world. Coaxing U.S.-Cuban reconciliation is just the start: the Pope is making the Holy See a player in the most pressing global issues in a way unseen since the early days of Pope John Paul II. From the outset of his papacy he has drawn attention to the Mediterranean migrant crisis, and in early September he called on Catholic dioceses, including parishes in the Vatican, to house refugee families. Francis routinely speaks out about the persecution of Christians in Syria and Iraq as he pushes for action to end the wars there. He praised the controversial nuclear deal between Iran, the U.S. and five other world powers. His 180-page encyclical on the environment has been called “radical” by one prominent environmentalist and has helped make Francis a perceived front runner for the Nobel Peace Prize. And the State Department has asked the Vatican for help on relocating prisoners from the military prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, so that it can be closed, a top Obama priority, senior Administration officials tell TIME. Secretary of State John Kerry “early on saw Francis as a potentially activist foreign policy Pope,” says one senior State official.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo® was "founded by clan patriarch Felix Manalo in 1914" says Inquirer

Believe in the Bible? Whose Bible? Which version? What Translation? Not all Bibles are the same. Protestant Bibles are all incomplete and wrong while the origin of it, the Catholic Versions are the genuine one. And for most of the times, the INC™ of Felix Manalo carefully uses different Protestant Bible Versions to accommodate and justify their man-made doctrines.

And while the original Bible is always TRUE, those who corruptly translated it, and deceitfully interpreted it make it utterly BAD, really BAD, just like how Eduardo V. Manalo and his paid Ministers translated it as they pleased.
Believe the Bible, not detractors, Iglesia leader exhorts members

BOCAUE, Bulacan [Inquirer.net] —Iglesia ni Cristo executive minister Eduardo Manalo has urged church members not to believe allegations against the INC, saying that it is the Bible, not other people, that speaks the truth.

Addressing INC members in an evangelical mission at the church-owned Ciudad de Victoria complex on Saturday, Manalo said accusations putting the 101-year-old church in a bad light should be spurned by its followers.

“If what they say is true, you should not be seeing what is happening now. That is proof that this church has a God, (that) God is with us in this activity,” Manalo said.

Controversy has hounded the INC after some of its officials exposed alleged corruption in the church. The exposé linking some members of the church’s powerful governing council came after Manalo’s mother, Cristina “Tenny” Manalo, and brother, Felix Nathaniel “Angel” Manalo, were expelled.

The church was founded by clan patriarch Felix Manalo in 1914.

Expelled minister Isaias Samson Jr., an expelled minister and former editor of the INC publication Pasugo, sued eight church leaders after he and his family were allegedly held under house arrest. Samson said the INC leaders suspected him of publishing a blog criticizing the church.

Manalo, in his address that was broadcast to other INC venues, said: “If there’s a truth that you should believe in, it is what the Bible says, and not what people say.”

“The INC is the church which has hope … this church will inherit the Kingdom of Christ on the day of judgment because our church has a connection with God,” Manalo said.

“God has been fulfilling His promise to His messenger (‘sugo’) from the start… the Iglesia ni Cristo will be saved, God said it Himself. It came from the Bible, not from me,” Manalo said.

The venues—the 55,000-seat Philippine Arena and the 25,000-seat Philippine Sports Stadium—were filled before the event started at 7 p.m.

When did the TRUE CHURCH OF CHRIST APOSTATIZE? Debunking the Iglesia Ni Cristo® claims

Apostasy was during the 1st - 4th Century

The Iglesia ni Cristo believes that it is the one true church founded by Jesus Christ and was restored by Felix Manalo in the last days. They believe that the first century church was apostasized in the 1st or 4th century due to false teachings. INC says that this apostate church is the Roman Catholic Church. Meanwhile, its reestablishment is seen as the signal for the end of days. -Wikepedia

The True Church of Christ haven't apostatized yet (as of 1964 A.D.)

“Ang totoo hanggang sa kasalukuyan ay patuloy na ginagawa ni Satanas ang pagpapasok ng mga maling aral sa Iglesia Katolika na sa pasimula'y siyang Iglesia ni Cristo. Sadyang matalino at tuso ang diablo. Hindi niya ginawang biglaan ang pagtalikod sa Iglesiang itinayo ni Cristo noong unang siglo." [The truth is, until today Satan continues to inject false teachings to the Catholic Church which from the beginning was the Church of Christ.  The devil is quite intelligent and cunning.  He didn't let this Church founded by Christ apostatize right away.]-PASUGO, Abril 1966, p. 46:

Another Iglesia Ni Cristo® hypocrisy and inconsistency.

Muslim Defenders shamed themselves in a Public Debate with Catholic Defenders!

For the sake of non-Filipinos who are watching this video, this Muslim was so arrogantly claiming  HE KNEW ARABIC very well, but when being asked by the Catholic Defender to EXPLAIN in PURE ARABIC the meaning of "Alif namin" he immediately withdrew from the debate saying "I don't know."

The Muslim man clearly was pissed off. He cannot accept the painful rebuttal of the Catholic Defender. Instead, he forced the moderator to finish the debate... The Muslim man claimed he knows Arabic but non of the questions he could explain in pure Arabic. Now, the easiest way to save himself from public humiliation is to RUN because they really do not know ARABIC...

Bottom Line: MUSLIMS ARE UNABLE TO DEFEND THEIR FAITH IN PURE AND SIMPLE EXPLANATION!

Debunking the claims of the Iglesia Ni Cristo® about the emergence of this fake church as a "fulfillment" of Biblical prophesies as opposed to common sense and God-given knowledge of TRUTH. As the author brilliantly exposes the in their claims, he/she said “We should never allow anyone, including our own church administration, to subvert our God given ability to think independently, to seek and share knowledge, and to discern the truth.”
On the INC Prophecy, Part One
[Source: Musing of An INC Member]

The suit winds its way uncertainly through a prejudiced political minefield as the advocates for truth tirelessly navigate the system, struggling to cast a final irrepressible light on the shadows of corruption, ceaselessly seeking both restitution and reformation, even as the hope for either grows increasingly slim.

Half a world away, in places far removed from the epicenter of the religious unrest, the remaining publicly vocal pockets of resistance are methodically and systematically silenced.

Amidst it all, the propaganda machine continues to churn, consistently albeit less vehemently, as it met and now maintains its purpose in deliberately shaping the perception, manipulating the cognition, and directing the behavior of our brethren.

Whether we acknowledge it or not, it seems we are inexorably fated to be ‘one with EVM’ and with a corrupt administration, left with little choice but to subvert our own conscience and understanding in order to blindly obey and submit, lest we and our loved ones incur dire consequences.

And yet many of us still persist in our pursuit of truth, even as our inquiries are met with faulty logic and irrationality, as the responses run the gamut from “because the Bible prophesied it” to “brother/sister, you and your household are now expelled.”

Consequently, a growing number of brethren are now asking an evolving series of questions that inevitably lead to an inquiry into the veracity of the church itself.
“Can our leaders become corrupted and lose God’s favor?”
“How exactly are the recent church events prophesied in the Bible?”
“Do these events possibly indicate that we are actually not the ‘one true church’?”

The one seemingly incontrovertible defense the church has consistently used to respond to every allegation and accusation, other than outright denial, is simply this:
“We are the one true church prophesied in the Bible. Therefore, we are the only means to salvation. If you do not obey and submit to our authority, you won’t be saved.”

As I stated in a previous entry, our pursuit of the truth is akin to arguing at the point of a gun, since it matters little whether they’re wrong or right- either way, you’re still getting shot (in our case, expelled) if you continue to persist.

But, what if we can prove that the gun was never loaded to begin with? Or that it doesn’t work?
Or that the gun itself isn’t even real?

In the same manner, for argument’s sake, what if we can prove that their expulsions have no merit? That their threats don’t work? Or that the church isn’t “real”?

This brings us to the fundamental inquiry many of us have already explored in our membership, an inquiry I recommend every active member pursue (ideally with an open-minded reasonable minister, if you’re fortunate enough to know one) in order to truly explore and ascertain the basis of one’s faith.

And so we come to that inevitable fundamental inquiry, which is simply-
“Is our church, the Iglesia Ni Cristo, and the last messenger, Brother Felix Manalo, truly prophesied in the Bible?”

Since the administration continues to employ the church’s divine prophecy as an all-encompassing defense that excuses whatever questionable actions they may take, be it their alleged financial misappropriation and questionable financial practices, their purely profit driven pursuits, their peculiar preoccupation with world records and entertainment, their embarrassing and immoral responses to the crisis, etc, then I feel that a simple inquiry and revisit into this prophecy is justifiably merited.

So let’s continue.

According to the doctrine, our church, which emerged in the Philippines in the Far East, was established in 1914 by virtue of the fulfillment of the prophecies of our Lord God (as per Isaiah 43:5, Moffatt translation) and of our Lord Jesus Christ (as per Acts 20:28, Lamsa translation) through the commissioning of the last messenger, Brother Felix Y. Manalo (as per Isaiah 46:11).

For today, I will primarily address the three verses used in the previous statement which are most frequently used by our ministers as prophetic biblical proof of our church and of the last messenger, namely:
1) Isaiah 43:5
2) Isaiah 46:11
3) Acts 20:28

First, let’s look at Isaiah 43:5.

On Isaiah 43:5 – “East, east and afar of, and the Far East”

Isaiah 43:5-6 in the New King James Version reads:
“Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east, and gather you from the west.”

Isaiah 43:5 in the Moffatt translation reads:
“From the far east will I bring your offspring, and from the far west I will gather you.”

The Old Testament, including the book of Isaiah, was originally written in Hebrew. In the original Hebrew translation of Isaiah 43:5, the church claims that the Hebrew word “mizrach” refers to the geographic term “Far East” and therefore consequently refers to the Philippines. The church uses Smith’s Dictionary of the Bible, authored by bible scholar William Smith, to interpret the Hebrew word “mizrach” to mean “Far East.”

This is what our church claims Smith’s Dictionary says:

“While both terms, “kedem” and “mizrach”, can be translated as “east”, “kedem” is used in a strictly geographical sense to describe a spot or country immediately before another in an easterly direction, whereas “mizrach” is used of the far east.”

Essentially, the church claims that “mizrach” means “far east” according to Smith’s Dictionary.

Let’s examine exactly what it states:

“East. The Hebrew term, kedem, properly means that which is before or in front of a person, and was applied to the east, from the custom of turning in that direction, when describing the points of the compass, before, behind, the right and the left representing respectively east, west, south and north. Job 23:8-9.”

“The term as generally used refers to the lands lying immediately eastward of Palestine, namely, Arabia, Mesopotamia and Babylonia; on the other hand, mizrach, is used of the far east with a less definite signification. Isaiah 42:2; Isaiah 42:25; Isaiah 43:5; Isaiah 46:11.”

That was the full quote of the Smith’s Bible Dictionary, and it states that “mizrach is used of the far east with a less definite signification.”

A less definite signification.

Meaning that “mizrach” does not definitively or necessarily mean “far east.”

If mizrach does not necessarily mean “far east”, it would follow that Isaiah 43:5 does not necessarily refer to the far east, and so therefore does not necessarily refer to the Philippines.

Let’s say that we’re not certain of the meaning of some word in a book, in much the same way that we’re not completely certain -based on the examination of the evidence- that ‘mizrach’ means far east. And let’s say that the sole authoritative source we’ve used to define that word actually does not definitively do so, in the same way that the Smith’s Dictionary does not definitively define mizrach as the far east.

So what else can we do at this point? Simple. We can keep reading the book.
In other words, we can simply examine how the word is used in context, because one clear and obvious way to determine a word’s meaning in a book is to examine how the word is used elsewhere in that same book.

So, let’s examine how the word mizrach is used in the Bible.

The word mizrach is used in many different verses throughout the Old Testament. Each one of those verses translate mizrach as “east” and but not necessarily and not specifically far east. All of the literal, direct word-for-word translations of the Bible, including the KJV, NKJV, RSV, and NIV, translate mizrach simply as “east.”

Yet, among the many verses and versions of the Bible that translate mizrach simply as east, we see that the phrase “far east” still occurs in that one specific verse in that one specific translation: Isaiah 43:5, Moffatt translation. This is the authoritative version that our church insists upon as the basis of its prophecy.

Upon further examination into the origins of this outlying translation, we would discover that James Moffatt employed a less accurate translation principle, which bible scholars call ‘dynamic equivalence.’ Basically, this principle permits the addition and subtraction of words and phrases depending on the understanding of the translator. This translation principle emphasizes and prioritizes the readability of the translation over preserving the original grammatical structure. Accuracy is therefore sacrificed. We could observe Moffat’s use of this translation principle when we look at his version of the Bible as a whole, as we would readily observe that Moffatt rearranged the order of verses and of entire chapters.

More particularly in our case, we can observe Moffatt’s use of this less accurate principle in Isaiah 43:5-6. The prophet Isaiah says mizrach or simply “east” in verse 5. Two sentences later in a succeeding yet different verse, Isaiah says “Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth.” Moffatt pieces together the word “east” from verse 5 and the words “from afar” from verse 6 to create the phrase “far east.” To compound the translation issue further, the church interprets this phrase “far east” not simply as “farther in the east” but as the specific geographical Eurocentric term “Far East”, the region in Southeast Asia.

To illustrate an obvious problem with this, here’s a simple example.

Let’s say I was visiting you in Long Beach, California, and I told you that I traveled from the “east” and was brought by plane “from afar.” Would you automatically assume that I traveled from the Far East? Even if I had told you I traveled from “far east” of here, why would you assume that I meant “the Far East” as opposed to simply “farther east”? I could have traveled from, say, Forest Hills, New York, for example, which is “far east” of here, “farther east” of here, and also “from the east and from afar.”

How then is the word “mizrach” used in the Bible?

If we examine all the verses that contain the word mizrach, we see that it’s used to illustrate a number of different things: a courtyard’s dimension in Exodus 38:13, a tabernacle gate in I Chronicles 9:24, a realm in Israel in Joshua 17:10, an area east of the Jordan river in Deuteronomy 4:41, among others, but never is it used to illustrate a region or a country in Southeast Asia.

What then could prophet Isaiah have been referring to?

Well, not surprisingly, the prophecies of the ‘Jewish’ prophet Isaiah might actually refer to his fellow ‘Jewish’ people. This becomes increasingly clear when we read the entire chapter and see that prophet Isaiah is actually writing about Israel. The Jews were a scattered people after their Babylonian captivity and also after the later destruction of Jerusalem. Isaiah prophesies in chapter 43 that those scattered people would be gathered again, which actually did come to pass when they returned after the Babylonian captivity and also when, in more recent history, the Jews formed the state of Israel.

Let’s now look at Isaiah 46:11.

On Isaiah 46:11 – “Felix Manalo or Cyrus the Great”

Isaiah 46:11 reads:
“Calling a bird of prey from the east, the man who executes My counsel, from a far country.
Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it.”

The church claims that the ravenous bird of prey from the east is Felix Manalo, from the Philippines.

But, when we read further into Isaiah and consider the narrative, biblical, and historical context, one could strongly argue that the verse actually refers to Cyrus the Great, of Persia.

The sigil and standard of Cyrus the Great, a warlike king during the time of ancient Israel, was a literal bird of prey, a golden eagle. (In the same way the sigil of Lord Stark was a direwolf, but I digress as well as jest; I anxiously await for ‘Winds of Winter’, but that sentiment is for another blog site.)
As an aside and on a more relevant note, Cyrus was also physically described as having a nose like the beak of an eagle. In any case, the golden bird of prey was the emblem of Cyrus, which adorned his banners. Cyrus’ emblem of a ravenous bird of prey could very applicably denote a bird-like swiftness and his ravenous fierceness as a ruler.

Reading the entirety of the preceding and succeeding chapters of Isaiah provides us further context and clarification.

In the preceding chapters, 44 and 45, we clearly read that Isaiah is referring to Cyrus, starting in Isaiah 44:28 and continuing through Isaiah 45. In the succeeding chapter, 47, we read about the defeat of the Babylonian empire by the Persians, the king of whom was Cyrus. It makes perfect narrative sense that chapter 46 refers to Cyrus and it doesn’t make much sense in both the narrative and historical context for it to refer to anyone else. Cyrus was the warlike king who descended upon Babylon in the manner exemplified by his reputation and by his sigil- a ravenous bird of prey, from Persia in the east.

Now, let’s take a look at Acts 20:28.

Acts 20:28 – “Of God, Of Christ, and Of Common Nouns”

(As another aside, if you are an active member of the church such as myself and you don’t know this verse by heart, you should relinquish your special anniversary edition #OneWithEVM membership card now. I would surmise that Acts 20:28 is the most frequently repeated verse in the history of the church, and was consequently among the first verses I memorized and recited verbatim as a young CWS choir member, winning me one of those “most intelligent” ribbons that all the kids eventually get. I can still hear myself reciting that verse, even as I specified “Lamsa translation” at the end. My, how they train us young.)

Acts 20:28, Lamsa translation, reads:
“Take heed therefore to yourselves and to all the flock over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you overseers, to feed the church of Christ which he has purchased with his blood.”

First, we should understand that the Lamsa translation is not directly based on the text or language of Greek, which is the original language that the book of Acts and the New Testament were written. The Lamsa translation is based on the ‘Peshitta’, which is a particular edition of a Syriac translation of the New Testament. Syriac is again not the original language but a dialect into which some of the original Greek manuscripts were translated. Nearly every other Bible translation agrees that Acts 20:28 says “the church of God” simply because the original Greek text itself reads “the church of God.”

The phrase in Acts 20:28 in the original Greek text reads “ten ekklesian tou Theou” or “church of God” and not “ten ekklesian tou Christou” or “church of Christ.”

The church argues that “church of Christ” is the more accurate rendition because the latter part of the verse states, “which he purchased with his own blood”. The church argues that the rendering “church of God” in the verse would imply that God died and shed blood on the cross. And this would contradict other verses such as 1 Timothy 1:17 that teaches God is immortal, John 4:24 that teaches God is a spirit, and Luke 24:36-39 that teaches God has no flesh and bones and therefore has no blood.

I would simply argue that there might not be any conflict at all with the original Greek text that reads “church of God” or “ten ekklesian tou Theou.” This is why:

The full original text of Acts 20:28 reads “thn ekklhsian tou theou hn periepoihsato dia tou aiuatos tou idiou.” The most appropriate translation of this is “the church of God which he bought with the blood of his own one” or alternately “the church of God which he bought with the blood of his own Son”

This translation has no conflict with the rest of the Bible, as it maintains God’s spiritual nature, while still faithfully true to the original Greek text reading “church of God.”

In light of this, some other translations including Lamsa’s translation of Acts 20:28 are all inaccurate because they are either 1) not faithful to the original Greek text or 2) not in agreement with the verses in I Timothy, John, and Luke.

The NKJV and NIV versions conflict with verses in I Timothy, John, and Luke by misinterpreting “dia tou aiuatos tou idiou” to mean “with His own blood” when it actually means “by the blood which is his own son” or “the blood of his own son.” The Lamsa version conflicts with the original Greek text by misinterpreting “ten ekklesian tou theou” to mean “church of Christ” when it actually means “church of God.”

So, are all Bible translations of Acts 20:28 incorrectly translated? No, not necessarily.

There are at least eight other Bible translations of Acts 20:28 that both 1) derive directly from the original Greek text and 2) do not conflict with the aforementioned verses in I Timothy, John, and Luke.

Here are three of them:

Acts 20:28 in the New Revised Standard Version:
“Keep watch over yourselves and over all the flock, of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son.”

Acts 20:28 in the New English Translation:
Watch out for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son.

Acts 20:28 in the Contemporary English Version:
“Look after yourselves and everyone the Holy Spirit has placed in your care. Be like shepherds to God’s church. It is the flock that he bought with the blood of his own Son.”

Again, note what each of these translations of Acts 20:28 have in common. All of them more accurately translate the Greek text of “thn ekklhsian tou theou hn periepoihsato dia tou aiuatos tou idiou” as containing the phrases “the church of God” and “with the blood of his own one or Son.”

Therefore, since both “with His [God’s] own blood” and “church of Christ” are inaccurately translated phrases from Acts 20:28, we cannot derive Church of Christ conclusively from this verse, based on the evidence presented.

There is another somewhat simpler argument as to why Acts 20:28 may not refer to the Iglesia Ni Cristo.

Even if, for argument’s sake, we allow the original Greek phrase in Acts 20:28 to mean “church of Christ”, the common noun “church” of Christ is made into the proper noun “Church of Christ.”

Here’s an example to illustrate this.

When I referred to that ridiculously exorbitant “plane of Eduardo” this did not necessarily mean that the actual name of the plane was “Plane of Eduardo.” The actual name of the plane could be Airbus or Boeing, but not “Plane of Eduardo”, because “plane” is used as a common noun. In the same manner, when that translation of Acts 20:28 refers to the “church” of Christ, this does not necessarily mean it’s the actual name. The word “church” -like the word “plane” in our example- is also used as a common noun, a word used to name general items rather than specific ones.

While some of our brethren may agree with this initial analysis and many more may object, what’s more important at this juncture is that we realize how the application of logical reasoning, the use of an evidence-based approach, and the process of rational thought allow us to simply continue the analysis and the discussion where both supporting and opposing points of view are welcome and necessary for us to eventually reach a clear objective truth. We should never allow anyone, including our own church administration, to subvert our God given ability to think independently, to seek and share knowledge, and to discern the truth.

How could Eduardo V. Manalo, the present Executive Minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo® founded by their grandfather FELIX MANALO, by his conscience consents evil that’s happening to his very family? How could a "preacher" of "Christian" (if they were ever been considered Christians) love and forgiveness permits this? "Give the other cheek" (Mt. 5:39)? "Honor thy father and thy mother..." (Deut. 5:16); what happened to those beautiful verses which undoubtedly demonstrate Christian virtues? Looking back, no good son would sentence his own mother to hell just as what Eduardo V. Manalo (EVM) did to his own. I am not an expert of the Bible but I haven’t come across any of the Biblical personalities like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, the prophets, sages and apostles, who admonished, sacked, insulted, convicted, or sent their mothers to hell! Not even their church founder Felix Manalo (whose mother remained and died a Catholic) nor Eraño G. Manalo ever was discourteous to their mothers. ONLY EDUARDO V. MANALO! That’s not godly! That is pure evil, ill-mannered minister undeserving of a man of God. Clearly God is already demonstrating to every member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo®, it's TIME TO LEAVE THAT CHURCH because it does not radiate any righteous qualities. The real, true, genuine, accurate Church of Christ hasn’t apostatized as Jesus (her founder) promised (Mt. 16:1618). COME HOME to his ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH! JESUS IS WAITING!

After all, the Iglesia Ni Cristo® is OWNED BY THE MANALOS, not by the Iglesia Ni Cristo® itself!

But INC lawyer Cuevas says restrictions needed to ensure security in compound

MANILA - A petition for injunction filed by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) abridges the personal freedom of Angel Manalo and Lottie Manalo-Hemedez, the Manalos' lawyer Trixie Angeles said.

The INC filed a petition on September 23, asking the court to prohibit unknown individuals from entering the premises of the INC compound in 36 Tandang Sora Avenue Quezon City where INC Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo's siblings are staying.

The petition was filed before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court after CCTV footage of people entering the compound was discovered.

INC legal counsel Atty. Serafin Cuevas Jr. said the INC deemed it necessary to petition for the restrictions to ensure the security of the occupants.

Cuevas also added that the INC may ask for the restrictions as the owner of the property.

In the hearing on the merits of the case on Tuesday, Cuevas asked for the names and pictures of all the occupants.

He also asked before the court to disallow visitors from staying in the compound overnight.

"It's their [Angel and Lottie's] right [to have visitors], you see. The only people who are not allowed visitors are people who are detained. This [petition] amounts to restriction of their personal freedom," said Angeles.

Both parties agreed to meet halfway while the case is being heard.

Included in the temporary agreement is the submission of all the occupants' names and pictures, as well as the list of all their visitors.

Meanwhile, guards will be posted in a public area outside the compound to ensure the security and to monitor the visitors.

The next hearing is set on Monday, October 5.

SAGOT NG ISANG FILIPINO UZTADS TUNGKOL SA KALIGTASAN DAW NG MGA IGLESIA NI CRISTO®

“Sino bang founder?Si Manalo! Kailan ba founded ang ano… ang Iglesia Ni Cristo sa Pilipinas? Kung si Manalo ay… pagsilang ni Manalo ay siyang magmemensahe na maging Iglesia Ni Cristo, ay nasa kanila ang kaligtasan, how about those people before Manalo?

So brother mag-aral tayo ng Bible. Nag-attend po ako… aral… Bible Study ng Iglesia Ni Cristo. Ang inaatake niya KATOLIKO! Katoliko ang binabanatan niya… Katoliko.

Very simple!

“Itong mga ito, maliligtas dahil sa panglan lamang?’Itong Iglesia Ni Cristo… itong lahat (aral INC) ay puro kasinungalingan. .. yun bang pulot dito, pulot dito. Para bang tagpi-tagpi! Ex-INC™ Minister Lowell Menorca II bares it all against the notorious Sanggunian of the Iglesia Ni Cristo®

The expelled minister of Iglesia ni Cristo who recently surfaced said that members of the Sanggunian, the highest administrative council of the powerful church, wanted him killed.

Facing the media on Sunday, Lowell Menorca II recounted the attempt on his life which took place in Dasmarinas City in Cavite province on July 17.

Menorca said that he was made to sit in an empty car when suddenly, a “round thing,” which was later identified as a hand grenade, was thrown inside the vehicle.

“After alighting the coaster, they made me sit in a car. They locked the door and immediately they left the scene. The driver of another car went to the backside and threw a round thing inside the car, at the backseat. I knew that it was a grenade,” Menorca said.

When the grenade did not go off, another alleged police officer was sent to kill him.

“When we were already in an isolated area, he was looking for a gun. That’s when I begged him. Sabi ko, ‘Please don’t kill me. Maawa ka na sa akin, sir. Ang katunayan po ay ministro ako ng Iglesia ni Cristo at may asawa po ako at isang anak.’ I was already crying to him. Sabi ko, ‘I am not a bad person. Huwag niyo naman po sanang hayaan na lumaki ang anak ko na walang ama,’” he said.

Menorca was able to persuade the officer not to kill him but it came with a price: he has to face a criminal charge of illegal possession of firearms.

“What was left for me to negotiate? So I said yes,” he said.

Menorca was arrested in Dasmariñas City on July 17 after allegedly threatening two construction workers with a hand grenade. He was freed on July 25 through INC lawyer Allen Blair Boy where he was subsequently brought to the INC compound in Quezon City.

Hours before the attempt on his life, Menorca and his wife were whisked away from their residence in Bulan, Sorsogon in a six-vehicle convoy after a church service on July 17. Officers from the Quezon City police were allegedly present during their abduction.

During the 17-hour travel from Sorsogon to Dasmarinas, the former minister said that he was repeatedly interrogated about a certain Antonio Ebangelista, a pseudonym of a blogger who revealed the alleged corruption inside the church’s ranks. Aside from the emotional turmoil he endured, Menorca sustained wounds from the handcuffs which cut his wrists.

“I asked them repeatedly to loosen the handcuffs because it hurt so much, my shoulders were about to fall off, my hands were bleeding. I kept on begging the police officers to even just remove my handcuffs, I’m not gonna fight them, they were all with guns.”

“I was begging and begging them for the life of my wife and my child. I just asked them, ‘Do whatever you want to me, just leave them alone.’ I asked them and begged them, whatever they want me to say, whatever they want me to admit, whether true or not, I will (admit it). They can shoot me if they want, they can kill me if they want, just leave my wife and my daughter alone. I asked where they were, they couldn’t give me anything, only trying to pacify me with the words saying ‘Okay lang sila,’” a sobbing Menorca said.

The officers even ridiculed him, joking that the convoy carrying his wife and daughter were intercepted by rebels.
Menorca claimed that he was detained by the members of the Sanggunian because he was being suspected to be one of the ministers who are critical of the church leadership.

“For three months we were there, for three months we were incarcerated. We were never free to go out even though they promised us, ‘Okay we can slowly introduce you to the outside world, slowly everything will be normal.’ I told them, ‘I don’t want my child growing up knowing that we are prisoners here’,” he said.

On October 21, Menorca and his family were “rescued” from an undisclosed house in Quezon City. In a video which was sent to INQUIRER.net on October 25, Menorca confirmed that they were kidnapped by the INC, saying that his statements in previous interviews were fed to him by the church leadership.

Menorca said that the order of the Supreme Court (SC) forcing INC to produce Menorca and his loved ones in court expedited his release.

The SC granted the petition of writs of amparo and habeas corpus filed by Menorca’s brother Anthony and Jungko Otsuka, the twin sister of the former minister’s wife, Jinky, on October 25.

Iglesia ni Cristo: Church at the Crossroads

$

Source: PCIJ, Posted in April 2002

by MALOU MANGAHAS

As the first anniversary of what has been called "Edsa 3" draws near, the PCIJ examines the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), whose members swelled the ranks of those who gathered at Edsa last year to protest the arrest of former President Joseph Estrada.

Our latest offering is a two-part story that recalls how three in every four of these protesters were INK members. One year later, the INC is at a crossroads. It has made peace with the government and tried to exercise its clout as it had in the past, by influencing the appointment of key officials and promising to deliver votes in exchange for concessions to the church and church-linked businesses.

At the same time, INC leaders are flirting with the political opposition. It sent two of its deacvons to pro-Estrada meetings these past weeks and continues to lobby for better treatment for the former president. The church also facilitates meetings for opposition Senator Panfilo Lacson.

The Arroyo government seems torn about the INC. On one hand, President Arroyo needs the church's support in the 2004 elections. On the other hand, the government remains suspicious about the INC's real intentions.

For sure, the Catholic Church has exerted its influence on government as well. The INC's actions in fact mirror what the Catholics have done. It can even be said that the INC's political activism is a reaction to the Catholic Church hierarchy's active political involvement.

The series explores these issues and also examines how the INC has been able to expand through the years through a combination of strict church discipline and the implementation of welfare projects for its flock.

A YEAR ago today, hundreds of thousands of poor Filipinos loyal to ousted President Joseph Estrada mounted a six-day vigil at the EDSA shrine.

Police officials say that most of the protesters—three in every four—were members of the pro-Estrada Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), a secretive, tightly organized church composed mainly of poor members.

Today the INC has made peace with the government and has tried to exercise its clout as it had in the past, by influencing the appointment of key officials and promising to deliver votes in exchange for concessions to the church and church-linked businesses.

At the same time, however, INC leaders are flirting with the political opposition while remaining ambivalent in their support for President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

The ambivalence is mutual. Arroyo and her deputies maintain close contact with INC leaders, wooing their support for the government and for the presidential elections in 2004. But the government has also placed the INC under tight watch amid reports that some church ministers are sitting in a "coordinating council" composed of Estrada allies, which is planning protest actions to mark the first anniversary of what is now known as "EDSA 3."

An Iglesia deacon reportedly attended a pro-Estrada meeting weeks ago, according to a presidential adviser and an opposition source. An INC member explains that "his attendance is probably authorized not because the church wants to participate but just to have a listening post."

Also in those meetings were Estrada's son and San Juan Mayor Joseph Victor "JV" Ejercito, columnist Herman Tiu Laurel, and Lito Banayo, Estrada's political affairs adviser and now media consultant of Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson. El Shaddai representatives were invited as well.

At the same time, the INC is lending discreet support to Lacson's political base-building efforts. On our provincial visits, "someone would whisper to us and say we should drop by the Iglesia head chapel," a Lacson aide revealed. Lacson now calls on the Iglesia on every provincial sortie, said the aide.

The directive to support Lacson comes from INC executive minister, Eraño 'Ka Erdie' Manalo himself. "Ang bilin daw ni Ka Erdie, 'si Ping, suportahan ng todo-todo. 'Yan ang papalit kay Erap,'" said the aide. (Ka Erdie said, 'Let us give Ping our full support. He is likely to succeed Erap.')

This worries Arroyo. "The mere mention of Ping's name makes her turn ballistic," said a presidential adviser.

To be sure, the INC's use of its clout mirrors the way in which the Catholic Church has tried to influence successive Philippine governments. The Catholic hierarchy mobilized its flock for Edsa I and 2 and has tried to sway state policy on such issues as population control. The INC, a much smaller church, is not as powerful as the Catholics, but it has not been shy about playing politics either.

On May Day Eve last year, some 150,000 Estrada loyalists, many of them INC members, marched toward Malacañang Palace, rammed through police barricades en route, and for 12 hours, braved gunfire and truncheons with sticks, stones, and pure rage.

Hours before the rampage, Arroyo had appealed to INC leaders, who ordered their members to pull out of Edsa and return home. Many stayed, anyway. When the melee was over, four protesters were killed, three of them members of the INC; 113 were injured, including many church members.

Rigoberto Tiglao, who had just been named press secretary that week, recalled that Palace officials were surprised to learn that of the scores arrested, two-thirds were INC devotees. Said a Cabinet member who was privy to Arroyo's negotiations with church leaders, "Walang isang salita ang Iglesia.(The church speaks with a forked tongue.) "

Today the INC still seems to be treading carefully on two paths. "We lost some of our followers then," a church member quotes a senior minister to explain why the church is inclined to support the EDSA 3 anniversary rallies.

Since last year, the INC has also been pressuring the government, initially to put Estrada under house arrest and later, to allow him to go to the U.S. for treatment. What is at stake in the Estrada debate is not lost on Arroyo. "The bottom line," says a presidential adviser, "is we must get the Iglesia support in the 2004 elections."

"The game," the adviser says, "is mutual gain, mutual benefit."

Indeed, the INC's Manalo is seen as a pragmatic leader, whose main concern, says a Cabinet secretary is "the survival, the expansion of the church, and preserving the church's properties."

Although "the Iglesia is a wild card because of its personal ties with Erap," he adds, "Ka Erdie knows that if they insist on fighting GMA, she will fight back."

True, the INC is still bristling that Estrada, whom it supported in the 1998 and previous elections, had been ousted from office. "Minsan lang nanalo yung presidente namin, tinanggal pa nila (They ousted the only president who was supported by our church)," says an Iglesia member.

The INC views Arroyo as a president with strong ties to the Catholic Church. The two churches have been locked in internecine and virulent doctrinal debates since the INC was formed in 1914.

Behind the scenes, however, the Arroyo administration has not let up on its ardent courtship of the INC. The church, in turn, has allowed itself to be wooed.

Three Cabinet members are key to cementing the relationship between the government and the INC.

Presidential Adviser on Housing Affairs Michael Defensor, three-term congressman in a Quezon City district that covers the INC headquarters and bailiwick areas, is a close buddy of church spokesman Lowell Menorca.

Transportation and Communication Secretary Pantaleon Alvarez is a friend of PIATCO spokesman Moises Tolentino Jr., an INC deacon. INC leaders have pledged support for Alvarez's confirmation as Cabinet member.

Justice Secretary Hernando 'Nani' Perez was Corazon Aquino's transportation secretary when he renewed the contract of an INC-linked firm to produce drivers' licenses in 1987. The rival contractor was Robert Aventajado, who had Marcos chief of staff Fabian Ver as broker.

Perez hurdled his last two, testy days before the Commission on Appointments in January, after the senators stopped their objections to his nomination as justice secretary. Their unusual silence was prompted by the presence in the Senate halls of Perez's friend—INC spokesman Menorca, who was seen in one of his rare public appearances.

Said one senator: "The message is the Iglesia is backing up Nani. How could anyone go against that? And so he was confirmed."

The political clout of the INC stems from the doctrine of the inviolability of the word of the all-powerful, infallible executive minister and the 17 executive officers under him. Together they compose the Church Council, which issues tagubilin or circulars that cover matters ranging from personal behavior to candidates to vote for in elections.

The tagubilin have the force of law on all the Iglesia faithful. Members who violate them, as well as other Iglesia policies against marrying non-INC members or drinking liquor and taking drugs, face suspension or expulsion from the church. This explains why INC members vote as a bloc.

It is a significant bloc as well. The 1990 census listed 1.4 million INC members, a nearly 300-percent increase from 475,407 in 1970. At an average annual growth rate of 9.8 percent in the last 12 years, INC members could reach some 2.8 million today. More conservative estimates put the INC membership at 2 million, and the most generous, at 8 million.

The Iglesia has wielded its command votes as political leverage from the time of Commonwealth President Manuel L. Quezon, a mason who cultivated the Iglesia's support and honored the church founder with the imperious title "Bishop" Felix Manalo. Quezon had employed the support of Manalo, Ka Erdie's father, as a foil to the Catholic Church.

But it was the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos and his wife, Imelda, who catapulted the INC, a minority church, to a position of parity with the dominant Catholic and the various Protestant churches. The Marcoses paid periodic visits to the INC headquarters in Diliman, Quezon City and were regular well-wishers at Erdie's birthday celebrations.

It was also during the Marcos era that the Iglesia achieved phenomenal expansion. The church stood by Marcos unto his twilight days. It directed members to vote for him in the 1986 elections and came close to seriously dividing its flock.

Many members voted for Corazon Aquino, the Catholic Church's anointed. This prompted INC ministers to conduct a house-to-house visit of members to compel confessions of whom they voted.

"We did not want to complicate one error (voting for Aquino) with another, which is to lie about our vote," an Iglesia member of over 20 years recalled. INC rules say that those who disobeyed the order should be expelled. But "they couldn't do that because many voted for Cory," said the INC member. "That would be a whole, big flock out of the church if you decide to excommunicate."

Instead, church ministers asked errant members to write letters of apology to the church.

PulseAsia president Felipe Miranda, a pollster who is familiar with the demographics of various groups, believes that the INC command vote is overstated. "The more the economic conditions of people improve, the wider the latitude of political decisions they entertain, outside of the advice of the traditional church," he said.

"The ability of the Iglesia to actually deliver votes is becoming more and more tenuous as social status seems to be improving within the Iglesia membership," said Miranda. It is also possible, he added, that the INC is seeing a gap between the electoral behavior of better-off, more independent-minded members and that of poorer churchgoers.

In the 1992 presidential election, the Iglesia went for Eduardo Cojuangco Jr., Estrada's running mate and Marcos' ally. "They (ministers) knew it was tagilid (unlikely he would win) but you just have to go with the head office's decision," said an INC member.

Cojuangco drew support from INC members in Metro Manila, faced resistance in the provinces, and eventually lost to Fidel V. Ramos, a Protestant. The fact that Ramon Mitra Jr., Manila Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin's candidate, met an even more stunning defeat provided the Iglesia some comfort.

In 1998, the INC went all out for Estrada. Church leaders and their mostly poor members took to Estrada as a church champion; his victory was considered the church's own, especially because the Catholic Church had so vigorously opposed "Erap."

Estrada had been supported by the INC since his second run for mayor of San Juan town. Estrada, in turn, favored the Iglesia. He named two INC members, Serafin Cuevas and Artemio Tuquero, as justice secretary. Both are influential INC members.

Estrada also renewed lucrative contracts for an INC-linked company represented by Cuevas and a brother, a retired colonel. Since the Marcos period, the company, Amalgamated Management and Development Corp., has bagged the contract to produce driver's licenses, identification cards, and motor vehicle plates from the Land Transportation Office.

The contracts are up for renewal this year. The 2002 budget sets aside P57 million for the production of motor vehicle plates and P329 million for drivers' licenses. These are subsidies that rival contractors said should not be provided at all because motorists pay for their car plates and licenses anyway. In addition, Iglesia members have been appointed to the LTO by a succession of presidents.

In December 1998, Estrada fired Jackie Cruz as chairman of the National Telecommunications Commission, reportedly because Cruz had rejected INC's application for a UHF television bandwidth. Instead, another licensee was given an expanded frequency application. Cruz was replaced by Joseph Santiago, who described the circumstances surrounding his predecessor's ouster at a briefing at the American Chamber of Commerce in March 1999.

The INC didn't abandon Estrada after his fall. Even before he was arrested on April 25, 2001, the Iglesia called for house arrest for the deposed leader.

On the eve of the EDSA rallies, senior INC ministers telephoned pastors, directing them to mobilize members for the protest. The church, however, did not issue a tagubilin for its members to go to Edsa. Instead, pastors announced that the faithful would not be discouraged from joining the rallies.

The INC's relations with the government remained testy after Edsa 3. Days before the May 2001 elections, intelligence officials got information that opposition forces were hatching a destabilization plot at the INC headquarters in Quezon City.

Two tanks and six trucks full of soldiers surrounded the church compound. This so angered Manalo that he called an emergency meeting of the church council, which right there and then decided to rescind support already promised to some People Power Coalition candidates. Arroyo rushed the next day to the church compound, apologized, and restored INC support for her candidates.

"Ka Erdie is so personalistic," observed a Cabinet member. "He wants his friends and his church to be given due respect."

A senior INC member affirms as much. "Usually, you should call up the Iglesia first to let them know." The absence of due courtesy and notice by the Arroyo government of the deployment of tanks and soldiers to the church's headquarters explains in large measure why "the hierarchy is very disappointed with GMA," said the member.

The INC has always resisted any attempts to encroach into its physical space. Military intelligence sources say that the Iglesia has 1,000 to 2,000 high-caliber firearms in its armory, apart from guns owned by individual members who include soldiers and policemen.

In September 1972, INC members shot at and killed three Marine soldiers who were part of a contingent sent by Marcos to shut down the church's DZEC radio tower.

CALIFORNIA – About a hundred current and former members of Iglesia ni Cristo convened outside the district headquarters in Anaheim, California, to continue demands for a more transparent church.

Dressed in masks, active and expelled members of INC picketed outside the INC Southern California District Office over the weekend.

While the members didn't speak much, their signs said it all.

''All they have to do is just come out and explain, be transparent with what's going on inside the church,'' said expelled member Richard Vasquez.

''All we're looking for is just the truth. We're not here to go against anybody. We're just against the corruption. If there's no corruption just stand up and say there's no corruption and prove it and stand by your word."

For the active INC members, joining such action put them at risk of being expelled from the church. But for the chance to stop any alleged corruption, it's a risk they're willing to take.

"They just want to make a point, when it comes to what we're doing here. So maybe perhaps they're scared or afraid but that is only because that's what the church administration is instilling in their heart -- that they should be afraid or scared. But we're not scared to expose the truth,'' Vasquez said.

Since allegations of church corruption and abductions surfaced earlier this year, some members have expressed their opinions.

Church leaders, however, said these actions are against the teachings of the INC and that the protestors have already been given explanations by the church administration.

''Clearly their intention in holding this demonstration is to cause division in the church, to further their misguided cause. This is to cause doubts among the members of the church. We're not going to stand and do nothing about it,'' INC resident minister Gino Ramilo said.

Leaders said members who are identified during these protest actions would be subject to due process that could eventually lead to expulsion.

''We try to teach them again the doctrines recorded in the bible. But if they make that choice, if they make that decision to continue to do something to disrupt the unity, you're no longer a Christian, you're no longer a follower of Christ,'' said INC minister Julius Malabanan.

This latest action comes after former INC minister Lowell Menorca II filed cases against several INC leaders over his alleged abduction.
